In your 20g tank with 1 fish and no corals, water changes should be fine.

Seaclone 100 is a great hang on starter skimmer. I had one for years on my 46bow and it would pull out a constant thick dark skimmate. It was a little difficult to get it tuned at first, but once it was dialed in, it was a great skimmer for the price! I would even get another one if I had another smaller tank that I could put a hangon on. I say go for the SeaClone!
