thats like a $1000 acanthro in the pic

Hi. Not exactly $1000. I know people are looking at EBay price on such a product, but in reality it is much cheaper. Most of those Acanthophyllias are coming from Indonesia. It coast LFS from 80 to 125$ each. From this point it really depends how many times over the store wants to flip this product.
Also, on EBay Utter chaos Zoa are sold from 80$ to 250$ per head but you can find them on MR as cheap as 5$ per head. I recently got some.

Wherever you get that for $125 Lemme know.
You can get a common single color acanthos for a little over a hundred not the one pictured.
A friend of mine owns the reef store and i have seen the spread sheets.
Every week thay would get an email from Indonesia and its WYSIWYG. the email is sent to all the stores around the world so it is first come first serve. Unfortunately you can not get a single coral. You have to buy a box, and a lot of time there is two or three ls that you want but you have to get a whole box. the price of the acanthophyllia is 80-150$ but the box itself is about 400$ not counting the corals, so you have to stock it with corals or fish to get your money back. there is limited amount of corals that can fit in the box. So now you can see how the price of the product start climbing up. then on the top of that the owner will add his overhead and a profit margin.
And of course there is supply and demand, so people are willing to pay more the for an ULTRA Acanthos.
But the price of the Acantho on their spread sheet is 80-150$ and if you fast enough you can get the crazy Ultra Acanthos for 150$. this is if transporters would not still it from your box. But that is a different issue. LOL
