You can save yourself $19 and get it done today if you go to Lowes or HD.

Get a 3/4" MPT to 3/4" FPT adapter and a 3/4" MPT to 5/8" Hose barb adapter.

Run 7 or 8 passes of teflon tape both 3/" MPT fittings and screw it all in. You're set :)

The hose barb on the return is 5/8" and you'll be MUCH happier with the barb fitting from HD or Lowes because it's much longer. The stock hose barb on the eheim is barely long enough to get a clamp on it.

both of them!!!!

You sure? It's a 2 parter and both are super common parts to have in the plumbing section. The 3/4" to 5/8" hose barb would be in the (Oh man I just realized you don't need the first part!)

Damn!

All you need is the 3/4" Male threaded to 5/8" hosebarb adapter. They are in the same section as the vinyl hose and copper hosebarb fittings.

No, they don't know. I"d cut a small piece off the vinyl tube that you have and take it back to HD. Place it over the hose barbs until you find the right one with a 3/4" MPT base. You could probably get away using 3/4" tubing over a 3/4" barb and just clamp it tight, or use a 3/4" barb with your 5/8" tubing and clamp it tight.

I'll have to check them out this week. The thing is the eheim piece fits very well, the hose is very tight and it even has a screw that tightens over the hose.

Either way my Live Rock still isn't cured, after 3 week, so it's at least another week before I can set the tank up.
