If your trying to seed the rock as it cures... it won't work.

Coralline algae needs close to the same water quality as the corals do to grow. It's calcareous, light isn't the only thing it needs.

:sigh: He's not listening. I recommended in another thread of his, that rock in a tub does not require lighting. Now he wants to grow coraline on those same rocks

coraline

actualy the coraline is for my tank, after putting a little in once before and noticing great result's i wanted to get a little more.my lr is fully cured already that i have in the tub. was just curious if there is anythng i need or can add to it while i am waiting to put it in my new tank that might speed the process up, but the coraline i want isnt for that, it's for my tank, and i know it's more than light that cause's it to grow, water movement. lighting nutrient's ect

dont rush the coraline, let the ecosystem control its self and your coraline will be everywhere before you know it. the best thing for growth would be making sure that your parameters are perfect.

NYReefNoob:

I have a fairly new tank. When I started, one or two of the rocks had a little coraline algae on them. Three months later, I'm having to scape patches of it off the glass about every other day, and my rocks are starting to purple up really nicely. Just watch your water parameters and in no time at all, it will start. :)

Dose 2 part. Keep your parameters in check. Do water changes. And make sure no nutrients AKA nitrate. In time coraline algea will grow. All you need is one rock that has some on it. Red coraline in excellent I have a rock with various types on it. You can have it but I have no idea how to get it to you.
No Purple Up

DO NOT DOSE PURPLE UP...........people tend to abuse this supplement and destroy their tanks with it. I've seen that bottle claim entire tanks and cause months of headaches trying to get everything back to normal. Just let the tank go and keep your parameters where they should be and in time you will have so much coraline you will be asking about the best way to get it off the glass.
