You might want to give the Petland in lower Manhattan a call. They had 2 for the longest time for sale. They might still be there.Store is located on Nassua street. One of the cross streets is Ann st.

Dude, goto ANY local fish store and ask them to order 1 for you. All their suppliers have them. It will be hard to identify individual species, but the most colorful peacock mantis AKA clown mantis can be easily ordered without any mistake. All the other mantis are called green mantis.

Good luck.

Tampa bay saltwater also has them for sale(99% chance of a weanarea), they are cheap there too, but it is the shipping fee that will get you.

I agree with ronen on this one. those mantis shrimp are scary as hell. I used to have a video on my phone of the one at suffolk fish and reef. one of the guys who worked there put in a small green crab? and the mantis ran to him and tore him apart. I would never own a mantis I would be afraid for my hands sake. :)

Mantis would be a nice species only tank but the problem with that is it has to be a thick tank, aren't there stories of them shattering glass tanks?

You couldn't put it in a 10g aga tank right?

yeah I went to all the LFS here in Boston. I'm not up to traveling to CT.
But if anyone is willing to help me get one I can Paypal you the money etc.. before hand. I'm looking for a Peacock really.. Because I already bought a N.wennerae from someone on this forum awhile back. LFS here in Boston aren't really that good lol... we rarely get any Mantis Shrimps here and if I have them order me one it will cost an arm n leg lol.. around 85bucks.
