I have a small tank (30 gal) with a refuge that will only fit probably 6 at the most. I'm sure that more would be better but I would think that they'll be helping in some small way to export. Was going to wrap their roots in some of my chaeto.
I thought I had read that I would be recreating something similar to what is found in nature...that the chaeto would NOT choke out the roots but provide support?
Hmmm odd at the moment I can't find the article I read about it. Basically it was saying that when you first want them to sprout roots and such, you want them to get as much nutrients as possible. And later on when they get established you could add other algae.
But of course i don't remember where I read this so it could have very well been a dream. Possibly something I read while at work in Boston. so a while back.
