hey dave i ran my hsa 250 on a quiet one. did he look at that as a possible replacement??

I have the hsa 1000.

i run a coral life. i have to change pumps though due to my landlord complaining that it is to loud. it really isnt its just his way of saying get out. F him. you can also look at coral life pumps and little giants

You need a pressure rated pump that can do at least 700GPH at 5-6 feet or so. Iwaki MD/WMD-40R(T) would be good choices.

The closes pump I have is an old MAK-4, it is a bit bigger than what you need to drive the skimmer. Quiteone are not pressure rated pumps so they won't be great for your skimmer.

i use to run my HSA250 with a genX pcx55.....it skims pretty well. Much much better than their recommend pump sen700. In fact it wasn't even really skimming with the sen700. I had to plumb it external and and modified the water intake pipe. Much more efficient. Good luck.
