I have a sump footprint of 12" x 12" available for a skimmer less than 24" high. It'll be used on a LPS dominant 65g reef. If you have one for sale or see one posted somewhere, let me know. Thanks in advance!

They've changed the G3's a little. They are supposed to be shorter. I made sure and made this clear when I was on the phone with asmskimmer.com. Hopefully it really is 23.5". I've got a little more than 26" under there, so hopefully it can fit. We shall see tmrw :D.

23.5"?!?! :scratchch hmmm...I might get that one if a used one doesn't come through. I think I read somewhere the ASMs require less than 1/4" clearance to remove the cup.

Yup, I'll get you a link to the "ASM skimmer club" thread on RC. Thats where I got most of the info on them. Originally the G3's were 25" but they started making them shorter.

i'm also thinking of getting a G3.. Very tempting, indeed.. As i think i am way over due on treating my sps with a skimmer the way they ough to be treated...hehe...

Dean, you said you need a skimmer less then 24" high. Is that including the thickness of the bottom of the sump?
Some tanks are around 3/8"-1/2" off the bottom. Thats why i went with ER a little more money but it has a smaller footprint then the G3 and 0 clearance to remove the cup.

Remeasured :D! Thanks Robert. I actually have more room than I thought. I forgot there's a removable false bottom (1") in the stand; so I can safely get a 24" skimmer. BUMP!

G3 dimensions

Hey guys, this is Rob from ASMSkimmer.com

All Seas Marine originally published some dimensions, which is what you see all over the 'net, except for our site. I actually measured a G3. is is 9.5 X 12 X 23.5, it needs no more than 1/2 an inch of clearance to remove the collection cup.

I hope this info helps a little.

Rob
