Treatment: Removal from the tank is straightforward, just be careful - its spines are mildly venomous and may inflict a painful wound if the starfish is picked up with bare hands.
Prevention: Crown of Thorns Starfish do not usually show up as hitchhikers, but are bought at LFS.
