EITHER going with the Bubble Magus NAC77 CONE Protein Skimmer OR the ATi Bubblemaster 200 Protein Skimmer. Which one is better?

ati still uses a older sicce 2500 which is a killer pump but you need the red demon pinwheel for the start up issues, the newer ati's still dont have a release date for the u.s, a vertex in180 will out perform either skimmer you listed also. a atb 840 would be the best fit and performance or the skimz sm181 kone

+1 on the Vertex IN-180 ... I currently have this skimmer on my system and it definitely gets the job done, but I am looking to upgrade it, probably to an ATB as Rick also suggested.

so the vertex in180 is better then the SWC 160, NAC7 OR THE ATI?? Anything else out there i can get around the $300-$400 market? Would it be good to get something rated for 300 on a heavy stocked 100?

zuska i loved the in180 was just too much skimmer for my system, honestly you could buy a new vertex in100 and get a sicce 1000 and have a beast skimmer that would be perfect balance for your tank and still be around $300 total, from all the skimmers ive had the atb has been about the best match up for my 80g heavyyyy stocked system, wm k2 would be a nice choice also

my tank is a 80g heavy stocked 14 fish 50+ sps 20 zoa's 6" clam and other corals and the in180 was still too much of a skimmer, honestly if ya can find a atb 840 used or even drop for a new one that would be the best skimmer for you

How do u guys determine if a skimmer is not enough or too much? I talking about when you r dealing with these high end skimmers. What gauge do u go by? I run a AquaC 180 with a mag9. And every 2-3 days I have to clean it out.
