Get a green nepthia coral to branch

Hi,

I have a Green Nepthia that's been doing great for two years. I got it as a small frag and has grown to almost 12". I fragged it and now has a big fat base. Is there a way to get it to branch out?

I assumed where I cut the frag would grow out a branch but instead it just healing over, so now it's a big stump with one big branch.

I don't think anyone calls that a Xmas tree coral...which is probably why you didn't get any response

Just give it time. There is nothing you can or should do.

it will grow out a new branch but it took mine over 6 months if you want to frag it in the future dont cut such a large piece one on the top branches will heal much quicker and always remember only bad things happen fast in a reef tank

I think u got that from me. Mine just branches from the top how urs is doing
Now. The base just keeps getting thicker

Yeah I think I learned that now. The problem is that it's always had such a fat trunk, I thought if I cut closer to the trunk it might stimulate some branching. Guess that's not the case. It's healing fast which is good.
