Yes it seem`s to work great Mark. What I did notice about the tank is that the skimmer is working much better than before and pulling out a lot more junk.....

hey rickyrooz I looked at your link and saw you only used 500 ml of the bio pellets, then you had a picture of the Phosban Reactor 550 with the biopellets in it.
My questions
1 is that 500 ml in the pictured reactor
2 how many ml can you fit inside of the 550
3 would you recommend a different pump or does the the maxijet 900 seem perfect

Well I put the BP`s in a phosban reactor w/ a maxi jet 1200. I used a whole bag in it for a 55 gallon. The nitrates were 40 (API test kit) and the phos. was 1.14( hanna meter) let`s see how this work`s out.....

Hey Tim
Which phosban reactor and what size bag?

The pic had 300mL in it. I think it can easily hold 1.5L. I want something stronger than the Maxijet. I hooked up a Mag 5 but it was too noisy, the flow was great.

The colors of the corals have increased dramatically since the addition of the NP Biopellets but the algae is still there and actually has worsened. The skimmate inside the skimmer has darkened and looks almost black. As you can see from this picture of my frag rack the algae has gone nuts. The rocks look clean but where the tangs and snails cannot get to the algae has taken over (aka. the nutrient levels haven't dropped yet with the addition of the Biopellets).

Does anyone know how long to run the biopellets before replacing it? I have a 140 and have to buy 2 bags at a time, and at it's current price, if i had to buy 2 bags a month I would not be getting into this media.

Hi Tim, I'm not sure about this but I think it would take an enormous amount of bacteria to consume the PO4 that your system seems to create. I would try to bring the PO4 down to lower levels with some Phosban or GFO and then let the Biopellets maintain those levels. I've been running my BioPellets for about 2 weeks now. My PO4 levels have stayed pretty constant around .06 - .07
