Vinegar so much easier and safer.. I dropped my phosphates from 0.20 to 0.05 in 3 days with no tissue loss on the acros even the delicate ones.. back in the low nutrient zone.. I'll see if color colors darker back up in the next week or 2..

Vodka, Vinegar and Kalk

According to Randy Holmes Farley, Vinegar contains 1/8th the organic carbon of 80 proof Vodka because it typically is sold as a 5% solution.

Randy also states that the saturates a gallon of Vinegar with KalK (Put in more than will stay in solution) then pour off the clear solution after settling.

He also uses ~ 10:1 ratio of Vinegar-Kalk:Vodka ( 10 parts of Kalked Vinegar to 1 part 80 proof Vodka) and dose this solution. As any other dosing goes better to distribute over time.
