really special blend? that bicteria additive product or whatever by microbe-lift? thats pretty cool. is that the stuff that smells like sulfer aka a godzilla fart lol?
If you have a sump, you can create a syphon and filter through a filter sock in your sump. Suck all your slime through it.
You need to eliminate the source of nutrients.
Chemicals are the nuclear option and should never be included in the initial steps. Only as a last resort.+1 - Don't just stir it up, siphon it out. If it comes off very easily (it should) the try moving your vortechs around. I beat a pretty severe case of cyano by w/c's, GFO and after 2 weeks I moved my vortechs, saw ALOT of 'stuff' blowing around and that was it - clean a day later. No chemicals. It took a while but I was committed to stay away from chemicals.
