Dendro help

Got 3 heads shipped to me and has not opened for 3 weeks. I have bought some black sun corals, and the regular orange sun corals from Will's Water world and they all open.

I even tried to take him out and have food circulating in a bucket for him to open, but just never happened. It looks like it tries to open when the lights are completely off, but never fully opened. I'm just scared it might be extremely starved. Any ideas.

check the flow area mines when i place them in a dead spot they wont open as much once a change them to a area with stronger flow they fluff very quick looking ready to eat i might be wrong in your case but u can give it a shot..

I agree with young reef, they like a little more flow. I think my 3 head dendro took awhile to open up too. Also have your parameters been steady since they have been introduced in your tank?

i rather buy from a member than to order on line , i like to c it open in person.

When it tries to open at night, feed it some mysis or cyclopeeze. If you do it on a daily basis, they will open more each night and eventually you can get it to open in the daytime easier

Mine took 3 weeks to open up. Now they are hungry.

Keep it in a moderate-low light area and a moderate flow area. They will come out eventually.

Agreed with feeding at night when open and then feeding more frequently. I have many of my corals open early morning ( I guess they are now trained...)

I have a few Dendros always hungry and hardy. I just got a 2 head frag and it was opening and eating good then it took a turn for the worst and looked it the center died. Looked at it last night and it is buding a bunch of small heads around the 2 head that looked dead! Jut give them time and food!!!

Something was wrong with your tank. First check parms. On my tank, I had a bad heater and after a crash, my dendro split into 8 head and is doing great.

tank is fine!!! The frag was in bad shap when I got it it is doing great now also....

Have A 2x head that always opens , and a 40 head that hardly opens , my 2x head likes little flow and they open, also they very rarley open during the day only at night almost like suncorals.
