no it is not going to be completely closed if you look at the last pic i had posted. i have the same drivers on my tank and yea the got hot so i made sure this box is more ventilated.

HLG are more energy efficient and thus lesser heat but the voltage is usually a bit high, put them away from top of the tank.

i am going to be running hlg drivers to replace my eln drivers on my tank. i have already lost one driver. i have had my fixture for approximately a year.

No work got crazy and apparently YouTube is the best place to learn to sodder so I never finished. BTLDReef is doing a vastly better job than I could have. I am excited to get them up and running now.

Okay not sure yet if reds are going to stay in that pattern. Going to see how they look over some corals tomorrow.

it is finished. i took some comparison pics.
reds 10% blues 100% whites 50%
reds 30% blues 100% whites 90%
reds 30% blues 100% whites 60%
reds 50% and blues 100%
okay... unfortunately the dimmer being used can only display all three at the same time. so i cannot have blues and reds on dim both seperately and no whites. possibly later on use a potentiometer to control reds. it seems to me i found the purplish actinic color i am looking for???? close, very close. i ll do more tests once on cryptics' tank.

Are you using Apex to dim the and run into the issue where you cannot turn off the color completely? When I was help a member's LED light controlled with an Apex, I overheard Apex support team said something about shutting off the power to that color via the profile. I am not Apex guy, so you should call Apex to verify what I just said.

BTLDReeef dropped the LED's off to me Friday night. Some ass hit my car on Saturday (nothing serious just a little sore) so I haven't set them up yet. I am going to set them up tonight or tomorrow and will get up pictures for you guys.
He did a REALLY nice job guys. I fully recommend that if you need to get someone to build something like this or anything tank related you guys give him a call. He did this because I knew him and not sure if he plans on doing others but in my opinion he absolutely should. If you need something do yourself a favor and ask him. Now to get him to make one of those automatic water change systems he DIYed for me
