These led's are 30000k color temp, 2 GPU coolers with fan built on the heatsink to cool it down. i have 36 blue leds mounted on heatsink that i will be using along with 100w led's i want to have deep blue ocean color that i have in mind. I will be adding pics of this build and add pics of the parts i got from ebay and prices i paid. i really hope it will come out just i like i have in my mind. please comment and suggestions.

Thank you for the build and the pics. How do you like the color of the 30000k? I have followed some of the other builds where folks have used the 20000k's and they usually end up supplementing with blues once they see the color. I saw the 30000k's on ebay and thought it may be a good option but I am worried it may be a little too blue.

I really like the color of my 14k halides and that's what I am shooting for. maybe a tad bluer, but not much. I really am looking to get the color with a single chip and not have to add blues. I am very limited in real estate for my fixture design.

actually its not too blue if you see the color of my 100w chip its really nice color and i am running my 18 3 w bridgelux along with 2 100w. since i don;t use 100w at full blast it really give me very nice color. i am planning to add some red, green and amber 3w led's to my heat sink for more color specturm or get 4 of 10w led's of each color. but i will add pics when i take that step. but i am very happy with the outcome of the this fixture and color

Would you be able to take a pic with only the 100W LED's on your tank?
Thanks!

thanks rob, jonny its really nice coverage and i don't have any dead spots and the color is 30000k which is ocean blue. i am looking for par meter so that i can get par readings and i wanted to know how much to ramp up those drives. it was easiest diy so far.

Hey there,
It's been some months now, did you ever get a chance to get that PAR meter?

I may be in the market for a DIY or already built LED supplement strip and of course bridgelux is cheaper than CREE.

So, even though these would be for supplementation only rather than necessary for growth and looks at the same time, I would like to know how they are doing.

Lmk. Thanks!

hi l dont have par meter but i could not run these more than 50% since there is optic on these light is pushed enough on the sand bed. i added 50w hybrid led just to get even coverage and i was running that at 75% withoug optic. heat was not issue at all. now i am in the middle of moving my tank in wall and almost done with eveything and next thing is to start cycle. i will post heavy load of pics to the thread that i am going to start very soon. but my suggestion to you is not to buy strips or 3w led's there are lots of wires drivers to deal with this is easy solution and cost effective and performance is outstanding. if you like you can add two t5 to ur build. thanks
