I am new to saltwater and wanted to start a 40 breeder tank with a all in one in the back of tank. I already have a 120 Gallon (4X2X2) with african cichlids and would like to start a small saltwater tank on the bottom of the 120G tank. The space on the bottom will be great for a 40G breeder. I got the tank but need to do the AIO after i am done with more research and help from a friend. We are thinking of taking about 6" (width) from the back all the way accross which is 36" (length). First on left of the AIO is the intake which will house a small skimmer then another partition for the water to flow over top to the refugium and then at the end is the return compartment. How many compartments will i need? (skimmer, refugium, return) Should i add some glass/plastic in between these compartments to make the water cleaner and less bubbles? Will a Rio 1400 pump be good enough for the return? Please advise, thanks for all your help! :turtle:
