I want to make my own overflow but I am not sure what material to use. I know that acrylic won't stick to glass so what are overflows made out of? I know I could use glass but some sort of plastic/acrylic I am thinking would be easier.
I was under the impression that acrylic and silicone to glass will not work. I think overflows are made out of some sort of plastic. I am just not sure which kind. I have someone that can make them for me I just need to tell them what to use.
Dow Corning 795 is also a good bonder, its a glue and silicone in one tube, be aware that it dries fast so you have to be all prepared for it to be quik
You can use silicone to adhere the acrylic to the glass for the overflow box, as long as their is water present in the over flow. When you have 2 bodies of water that is equal volume their will not be any pressure to split the glue of from both materials. I personally use GE RTV 103 (black), GE RTV 108 (Clear)
