Hello MR.... Here is one more of my diy project and this is by far the biggest diy project on my list. I have taken down my 120 gal Oceanic tank and since I wanted to get bigger tank with closed loop system and estimates I got for glass tank was not very wallet friendly. So I had two choices either get out of the hobby or do it my self so I went in RC and other forums where people have built tank out of plywood and I contacted them and got pretty good feedback and information and list of do's and dont's and I decided to go with plywood. So me and my very good friend (James -JWisson) who is as crazy as I am decided to take on this task and We started working on this. We worked on most weekend (Sat/Sun) and I can't tank him enough for spending his weekends at my place working on this tank. So here are the pictures of the progress and where we stand as of today. Size we have is 48" wide x 30" high x 32" deep and 2 sumps are 48" wide x 17" high x 18" deep and frag tank is 48"x24"x8". We choose to use marine grade plywood. Inside will corners will be coated with marine grade epoxy and Kevlar and Rubberized it will Dura Rubber and Kevlar. I was told that 4 coats are enough for this use but I did 10 coats since I have enough of the Dura Rubber and sealed from the outside with three coats just to make it water tight.. Here are the pictures of the progress.
