Hey Vio this is the tank that I have been working on and this is the reason why I am not able to work on my led fixture. Once I fill this tank with water and everything is safe and find no leaks I will be able to work on the light.

Blue stuff is Dura Rubber and I bought this from http://www.rubberizeit.com and originally it comes in White color but I gave them this color code and they made this for me at no charge. Great stuff and their team is very helpful if you have any question just call them or email them and you get call or email back within hour or so...

Thank you for info. one more Q, the glass is 3/8 ?!

tank fill

I want to thank you all for your comments and yesterday we were able to fill this tank with tap water to see if this tank holds water and if there are any leaks from glass seams or any bowing issues and I am happy to say that so far there is no sign of any stress on the plywood and structurally sound and looks very strong. I took the measurements from the middle of front to back and sides and after I filled with water I checked again and we had same measurements. This morning I went back in the fish room and checked all the closed loop pluming including pump and there was not a single leak so far and tonight i will turn the closed loop system on to check the flow of the water and play with it a little. So next plan is to connect the sumps and frag tank to together and turn on the return pump and run everything and leave it running for a week at least to make sure no leaks.... Here are the pictures of the tank filling up with tap water....

plywood tank

For project this big I had to search about prices and everything we bought was from Lowes so I went on Home Depot website and price from them is $47.97 and Lowes website is $54.95 and prices in the stores are same as well so I had them match the price with Home Deport. They gave me the usual BS at first time but Store manager agreed to match the price and then I had 10$off every 50$ I spent at Lowers coupon and trust me I used enough. Once I paid for the plywood and other stuff I made sure that my total stays arround 51 bucks before taxes so that I can take 10 bucks off and cashier was kind enough to ring everything separately and this is how I got this price.... Hope i answered your question...

Here are the links from Home Depot and Lowes

overflow

This is drain 2" drain pipe (reverrse durso) but its not finished yet. Still work in progress. Water rise under the coupling and top will have john J valve to control the air adjustment. I have used this pipe in my other tanks as well and its very quiet...
What is that? In overflow?

Tank is completely full of water now and this is second day and no leaks so far and no bowing issues.... All bulkheads are dry... This weekend we are planning on connecting the both sumps and frag tank and run the system with tap water for 2 days at least and I will be posting more pictures...

Rav,

Can you explain your durso a bit more? From doing some search a reverse durso has the tee and cap with the air valve in the sump. Yours seems to be from your description a regular durso with a different kind kf drainage instead of your normal tee and elbow. Thanks in advance and congrats on the successful plumbing. Can't wait to see more!

drain pipe

This is stand alone pipe and it is called stockman overflow drain pipe. This was suggested to me from my friend Rob and I like since It works much better than regular durso pipes and takes much less space and its quiet and no noise if tuned properly... Below is the link of how is made and detailed information. Please let me know if you have any more questions
