1/4" plate glass source in Manh?

Hey there,

I need to cut some baffles for a sump.

The stores I've checked (like HD and a few other random hardware places) only have 1/8" glass. I'd rather use 1/4" so I'm not always terrified of breaking it with an awkward bump.

Anyone know a place in Manhattan (bonus points for Cheslsea/WV) that sells 1/4" glass?

If you want take your measurements to lowes or homedepot and have them cut ceramic tile, Usually they have 18"x18" and 12x"x24" for 1.50 or so and they will cut them for free. Ceramic will not harm anything and its cost efficient and if you mess up then go have them cut again. I have used these in all of my sumps and they work great....

Try Canal plastic. I used them when I built my sump. It's acrylic, but they have tons of stuff in stock & the cut to order. I used Black acrylic for the refugium & clear everywhere else. Lmk if u have any questions

I've built a LOT of sumps. 1/8" is all you need. However, if you're as concerned as you say, you can use 3/8" which is 50% thicker than 1/8".

I you have glass sump then do not go with acrylic baffles....JMO

Alright, I'll give it a go with the 2.5mm I found. I think the failure of an internal baffle won't be a big deal; just an inefficient sump and a bit of work to empty/clean/redo.

There are glass places on Alan street, near Delancey street. They can cut to size.
