I got 3 PM Media Reactors, i love it, NOT cheap ,$ 180 at Fish Town USA, now there r 2 problems, i use MJ 1200 pumps, i like those pumps, but NOT the strainer , let so much Detritus + Chaeto etc. to go inside reactor, second , the reactors are well build and good efficiency , the bottom of reactor got clog, there is made some kind of star distribution made on CNC machine (not just some holes) lift Media very nice and well, problem is if strainer don't prevent bad stuff to go inside the reactor , just STOP working, this can be a big problem if is use for Bio-Pellets, bacteria will die in few hours .

I forgot, i warm up the 1/2 PVC pipe by torch, use stove works also, the trick is, do NOT remove the pipe until cool down , let the pipe to cool on pump, will create nice tide fit, i drill 1/4 " holes, clean the burr inside outside, try to avoid brown color when warm up, may create some kind of toxin, sand nice and rinse good, clog the end of pipe by plug or some old sponge. The reason i post that Bosch , is great tool.:lol2:

Not only the strainer, in my case the bottom of the reactor, then reactor STOP working, if you run BIO Pellets , bacteria will die in few hours. Then PO4 go up, by the time you realize , hair algae is there already + need again few weeks for BP reactor to really work (reduce Nitrate +PO4), not to mention the original Strainer go out so easy, if move move the pump around. i thought your not supposed to use the sponge in reactor for pellets. i use only plastic plates.

You right about that, NO sponge need, is my fault, the only one reason I post that pic. (is NOT mine) is to show the design of the water flow in bottom of the reactor, move water so well, but clog fast. So NO sponge, sorry. Vio
