I have been messing around with aragacrete and about 2 months ago I slammed my first piece in my 280 gal system...About a 8 pound piece..

I haven't had to dose A or B in 2 months....Calcium holding steady @ 455...Alk holding steady @ 3.43 meq/L.... Mag also holding steady
No ph buffer in 2 months either, just regular RO top offs..

Mind you I have always run these a little higher than the average tank for 8 yrs now...

I used portland #1 instead of #3.... with Caribsea aragonite sand... Soaked in vinegar for 5 days then 5 days in a 5 gal. bucket with a daily water change.. Using the water from this but to top off my system...

Now this is very dangerous not for the faint of heart or pocket... But I have been known to do do some "pretty wild things" according to other people..

No ill affects on fish, Corals did grow a 3/4 in over the putty I used to mount... What I would like to know is has anyone trried these things with ill affects later than 2 months later? Thank You...

Wow Bob... you're a wild and crazy guy! I did agrocrete. About 50 pounds of it in a 55. 12 days of if soaking in fresh water. When the build up on top of the FW stopped, I figured it leached out all it would. Put it in the tank and went form there. 55 gallon VHO SPS/LPS tank. Agrocrete is fine. It has buffering capabilities as well, but you should not rely on the agrocrete for system stability. You are asking for premature breakdown and underachieving system.
