eek. months have gone by and i've really done quite a bit.

The 'thing' on the top of the canopy is the disconnect for my lights. It's a 19pin connector so have all my canopy lights on one plug.

two 150w halides
one 24" t5 for actinic, the ballast I'm using will drive 2 actually. I just have to find the right endcaps. I'm looking for the small push-on waterproof ones. no thte big-ass 3 piece ones.
canopy fans
canopy LED's (moonlights.)

Total so far is about 12 pins. I acutally have room for many more things. I might put in a circuit of red rope light for night viewing.

I bought my glass from a place here in NYC. They really messed up my order- I ordered in November and didn't get it till february. And then then only had 2 out of 3 panels of starfire. They delivered the last one to my house the next morning.

Here's some updated pics.

Ballast box. 5 circuits. 5 cables, 5 breaker-switches.

and an evening shot with the moonlights.

oh, the T on the closed loop intake is a 1" T I drilled into the side and put a 1" piece of one inch pipe. So I basically have a street-slip-slip-slip bent cross. That way the intake will not be so strong as to suck fish and inverts into the pump.

almost done.

Still waiting on my t5 ballast

One of my icecap 150 ballasts is DOA

The aquascape isn't quite perfect yet.

But here it is, after almost a year of work. (on and off of course)

Looks really good! What is going to put on top of that bench. :D
my ass of course. and my hottie's ass. there's room for two.

actually a 1" piece of some kind of foam (going shopping for it tomorrow) and covering it with something. I really want to do brown leather to match the walnut. But I know i will get it wet and ruin it. so I'm thinking some kind of cool fabric that I can change out whenever needed.

nope. the tank goes down in. the board on top is just the backer for the foam. I've got to figure out the bracing for the top- it's just going to lift off. no hinges.

The inside is going to be caulked and painted with enamel. So when I do spill water, or the tank explodes, or the float switches fail and leak, i'm covered.

I'll take some more pics when it's all said and done.

very nice looking tank! 8)
I really like your wiring connector and box that really seems like it would keep everything organized.
