I have a 29g biocube (thanks Scott) and I have a custom sump (thanks HoF). The question is now how to get the water from the tank to the sump? Should I drill the back or should I do an external overflow? I have an external on my 75g and the noise bothers the little lady, so another one isn't in my best interest. Anyone done any mods to their cube to get water to the sump? Oh yeah did I mention the tank is filled with water, rock, sand, and macro. I can always just drain the back compartment to drill.

Just a q or ya, a biocube is an all in 1 system, why not just buy a regular cube tank instead and drill that?

Drill. The first time you have an 'accident' with a hang on overflow, you'll go "dammit, I wish I had drilled it!"

I've never heard anyone say "I wish I would have NOT drilled it and went with a hang on!"

Tim, the only issue I see is that it's filled already. That can be a problem. Any chance you can do a temporary holding tank and we can lay the tank on its side to drill. We need to be able to keep the core bit wet. Otherwise, the bit will heat up and possibly crack the tank (if done sitting in the vertical position).
