Skimmer boost...

I have a MRC 2 beckett skimmer that's doing the job well..But you know how us reefers are with our tanks...Upgrades as much as possible some times...

So anyway, My question is if I throw an air stone into my skimmer will it produce more bubbles giving me more skim???? Or do nothing...

If you want to increase the amount of air on an MR-2, upgrade pump size.

With the beckets the more flow the more bubbles. So he is right new pump, i hate the airstones in skimmers they are a PIA.

A true upgrade for a MR2 is a nice Barr aquatic skimmer.

A new motor in a piece of **** car still get you a piece of **** car...

I never used one my self..

I do have two of their Kalk Reactors and help someone adjust one of their older beckett. They are built solid, with good material and proper construction method. They don't have all the bells and whistles like a Barr.

My pump is running the skimmer and the return and the pump is dart reeflo...
I don't know if my 2 3/4 in returns can handle the pump all by themselves. I have a gen x 1190gph that might be good for just the skimmer or will that be a downgrade???
