After seeing some posts about people not having room to mount an RO unit, I thought I would show you what I have done for my RO/DI unit.
I made this cart out of scrap 1/2" plywood I had. If I had more wood laying around I would have made the back out of a solid piece of plywood for more strength. As it is I think it is plenty strong enough now.
I made a backer board behind where the RO unit bolts on out of another piece of the plywood for strength. I also made the RO mounting board large enough to mount a dual TDS meter I plan to get in the near future.
I wanted to be able to roll it around, so I mounted casters on the back 1/8" above the bottom of the cart. By doing so, the cart is standing solidly on the base, but I only have to lean it back a little bit for the cart to raise up on the casters. I could only find rotating casters, all I had to do was drill through both the base of the caster and the bearing mount, then install a screw through both into the wood and now I have stationary casters.
A pic of the Casters.
Now I have to paint it to help waterproof it.
