Gresham, I sent you an email a month ago asking what size you wanted! Email or call me and we'll figure it out.

Frank, I know my acrylic work isn't as stellar as yours, but I might have enough stuff to make one. I might only have enough to do the motor housing, and then you'd be on your own for the reactor chamber. I'll see what I have left when the rest are done and let you know.

Pierce, I don't have the tools to dado in a recess. I might pay to have someone else do it on the rest I have to make. I know the joints i make will hold water, but they're pretty ugly. I might heat bend some 1/8"x1/4" stock and make a ring. . .

How about a $13 Molon stepper motor!

Ahhh. finally done. . . well, almost. . .

I need to make one more stir bar, and they're done. if I wasn't so clumsy I'd actually be done. . .

Here's a pic of Gresham's. it's 20" tube (24 1/8" total)
And Scott's is 24" tube, 28" tall total. This thing is a monster!

I'm done, I've learned a lot, and it will be a while before I make anything else.

Here's the pics!

I have a question regarding the build. What motor are you using for these units. I am interested in building my own in side either a 6" diameter or 4" diameter tube about 18" tall.

I found this motor on the site you listed earlier, but it looks nothing like the one you are using.

Thanks

Stir Rod hole seal?

Hi there, I came across your DIY stirrer thread during my research into making one myself- impressive build! I know it is an old thread, but if you have time to answer one question- I would be grateful. Everything makes sense and is manageable, with the exception of the hole in the top plate where the stirrer rod enters the reaction chamber. Did you make that watertight- and how? Or, does the water level in the reactor simply never get that high, and the chamber isn't pressurized- filled to the top? Thanks again for the insight. Best, Peter
