here is my 120 gal oceanic tech tank set up in progress . i am done with stand and made sure with professional and its ok and safe. i put the tank on stand was back breaking and hard for two people (me and my brother)but we managed. added 75 gal oceanic reef ready sump and i have added room for refugium. everything fits and slides in easy. iwaki 100rlt return pump plumbed in with valve unions on both end for easy disconnect in future upgrads or swaps. i will be using this pump as a return with ball valve to control the flow and use this pump to feed my reactors as well. i have build 3/8 manifold with four outlets with individual valves to controll the flow to each reactor. i will be feeding carbon, bio pellets, gfo and calcium reactor with this pump this pump is rated for 2300 gph so i hope this is enough to push it other wise i have 3500 gph pump that i will swap with. any suggestions or comments please let me konow . this site and members are great helpfull and thats what this site is all about.
happy reefing.

The concern is not will it hold the weight, you can safely hold this tank with 3/4 inch plywood; my 380 is help up with 6 4x4's. The concern is the lumber warping over time, there are a good number of threads on RC with guys saying the PT lumber twisted on them.

Im confused, is this tank going in your yard?

Pressure treated wood will probably warp inside worse than outside. It is usually shipped immediately after the treatment process, this means it is shipped wet. It will then start to equalize to the ambient humidity or the environment. In this case inside, which is around between 20 and 35% humidity.

When that wood dries it will want to warp. If it is under tension, due to the construction of the stand, it may fail. This could be disastrous.

PT lumber is treated to prevent biological damage like termites. It is infused with poisonous chemicals so insects will not eat it, for long. Why would you want that in a tank stand.

I brought up the pressure treated lumber topic on this DIY thread a few weeks ago and I was ignored. Not only will it warp or split under pressure, if you didn't use ACQ fasteners the lumber will eat through the uncoated fasteners. My lfs used PT on his stands and lost a few tanks due to warping.

PT wood will warp twice as fast in a home as it will outside. It is also prone to splitting and checking when it is dried out quickly as will also happen inside a home. You could/should replace the 4X's with doubled 2X4's. These should have been notched to support the cross braces. There is no doubt the stand will hold the tank. My concern is twisting/warping down the line shifting the tank/stand causing an issue. Will it happen? Maybe. Could it happen? Definitely. Would I be comfortable with it being in my house? No not really :(
