I have a red & white dragonet. It's been able 2 months since I've had him. He was all over the tank at first but know since these past few days he looks slumpy and pale in his color. He's kind of stuck on one spot and barely moving around as he use to. My water perimeters are fine. The rest of my fishes are fine too. Water is crystal clear. I feeding them flake food once a day, is that okay. Any one have any suggestions. I don't want him to die on me.

tiny copods n amphs, n stuff really tiny. i only recommend for establish matured tanks of at least 50+lbs of good live rocks per small ones.
most from LFS will die from starvation. look at their underbelly ,if its flat or concaved, its not having enough to eat.

They usually don't eat flake food. They need a large supply of pods. Sometimes if you are lucky they will eat frozen mysis or cyclopeeze.

I would run out and buy some quickly. It sounds like it might be too late. Once they start starving and slow down, they won't eat anymore and then perish. Sorry to give you the bad news.

There is a lot of information on the internet about caring for these fish so I would suggest doing a searcha nd reading up (I would suggest doing that before purchasing any animal to avoid your current situation).

Thank you for your suggestions. I will try my best to care for my dragonet. I will buy the food suggested in the morning. You all are great help. I will all read up about it on the internet. I'll make sure this won't happen again. Thanx alot.

The best thing for that fish now is to find an established tank to put it in.
I agree, based on the description it sounds like it has little time left to live. I'm not sure at this point if it will be able to recover.

If he eats maybe. My guess is he is too far along and won't eat. Try and feed him and see if he eats.

If you wanted to give hime the best chance, try ordering live Mysis from Reed Mariculture and see if you can have them delivered quickly (it will be expensive though). Or as others mentioned, give the Mandarin to someone willing to try and nurse him back in an establsihed reef tank loaded with PODS.

Keep us posted.
