I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking to Jesse from ELOS.He gave me 2 test kits to try out ,PH and KH .

I want to say thank you to Jesse for the sample test kits> I have tryed this out and i have to say Kudos(that a good thing:D ) to you Jesse and everyone at ELOS .

I stopped testing my water a few months ago,Since test kits are not easy nowadays Hmm ,(salifert ) sometimes i think you need to use most of your brain to get this test kit right (salifert that is ) use this to pour into this ,dont stir now wait till later ,( wait til later it a test kit man ,how long should i wait ) Well I waited till ELOS came out with thier test kits <LOL

ELOS test kits are plug ang play.Even easier then that ,For KH test ,you fill 5 ml of water ,each drop of the soultion equals 1 kh ,i have 9 drops ,my KH is at 9 ,you cant get an easier than that ,PH 10ml and a few drop, with a 6 diff colors each totally diff shade so you can match your ph level with no prob .

Jesse if you chime in.I would love to see the Calcuim ,and others at work ,not to mention if you can PM with price list .:D

Just letting everyone know .Great product IMO .2 thumbs up for ELOS and making some parts of the hobby much easiers .I think is one of the most important parts is testing your water i know we all get lazy with the chemisty kits we have.LOL

Thanks for the compliment, ronen. I realized how much I got used to the Elos kits when I recently ran out of and had to go back to brand x. A lot of time has been put into making ours easy to use and accurate. Herman and I talked about the po4 kits that people have and are reading 0 when that is pretty much impossible for most systems. As a matter of fact, I read 0 on my other test kit and was reading .25 on the elos kit which explained the "slick" I was getting in my CA reactor and the slow growth and coloration of some SPS. Using ro/di water I checked and sure enough my TDS had gone up and it was time to change filters. The other thing I like is the ability to just buy the most used reagant in the Ca and Mg kits instead of buying the whole kit. When you guys do the comparative test you should include an "intangibles" section for things like, child proof caps (on dangerous reagants), easy instruction (with pictures), easily used droppers and well marked containers and syringes. You could even include a few "late night drunk tests" and see which one performs under those conditions. Herman you are the lead tester on that one..........

how many test per test kit?
Good questions and all I can say is, I don't know. Some of the tests will vary (i.e. kh, Ca, Mg) because you will use a different amount depending on your levels. Sorry I couldn't be more help. J

Quantity discounts? Group buy? Those kits are not inexpensive. Maybe even a mix and match price, like the NO2, NO3, NH4 (ammonia cycle package, so to speak).

Russ
I think we can work that out. Maybe we can go through one of the vendors on this forum? That way they could sell the kits at normal price to "others" and give you guys the group discount. Just a thought.

If you want ill bring by the test kits for you to see and use.
I think its cool test kits ,and have to vouch for Jesse (ELOS ) with the I dont know answer ,reason being is that some of us have 10 kh in our tanks and other 11 and myself at 9 ,SO here you have a diff 3 drops ,so really every ones test kits will vary in test amounts.

Call me im ill put the test kits in my car so whne call ill have them with me

ronen i understand, but there is a max drop for each time. like you draw out 1ml out of salifert, but inside the bottle there is 200ml of the reagent. you will never use 1ml fully just the minimum amount of test inside a bottle is 200 times.

All of the reagants are in 10ml bottles. In our test kits you do not draw reagants with a syringe, only the water you are testing. I am not sure how much is dropped each time. I will ask what the expected amount of tests per kit. Jesse

Best way to find out is ask Jesse to count how many drops are in a test kits ,then divide the amount of drop with the correct amount of drops needed for your Aquarium

IE ,if KH has 400 drops ,and our tanks need to be at lets say 10 ball park # ,,,so you have 40 test .thios is just an example ,i didnt test the bottle .

Also dont forget this test kit uses only 1 solution to test ,so you dont run out of one thing and not the other.

But for me ,I like these test kits .you dont have too many test tubes ,powder, and so on ,ill bring by to you soon

Correction. Not all are in 10ml containers. The iodine is a more complex kit and has some reagants in 5ml. Also the main reagant needs to be kept in a dark glass bottle (10ml) and will need to be drawn with a syringe. You can tell by the price that this kit is different than all the others. Most don't test for this but I just want to clarify this. Sorry about that.J
