Can't thank everyone enough for the continuing support and kind words!! This is def the MR spirit I've missed.

Anyways, here's an update on the tank. Today I went to Max Reef and of course as usual Ivan has some of the best fish and definitely what I am looking for. I purchased 5 fish in total, small tangs under 3" to replace some of the exact ones I sadly lost and also a baby rabbitfish that I used to have in my tank as well. The four tangs are a blue hippo, yellow tang, mimic tang and an atlantic blue tang. They all seem to be doing great and have all started eating.

I also did another 65G water change on top of the 65G water change I did yesterday and I also purchased some ESV carbon which I added probably 2lbs of the 3.5lbs in the container. I have my fingers crossed and I won't be adding any new fish for probably another 2 weeks.

Here are the pics :)

This is the new blue hippo tang (unfortunately not a yellow belly) and the new doublebar foxface (baby, so cute) just like the one I used to have:

And lastly, I got this huge, beautiful heniochus butterfly from a friend for free!! :)

Oh man that first pic gave me goosebumps, so sad to see something like that happen, sometimes it's not even about the money lost but like you said its just sad to see such creatures die needlessly, specially when they are well taken care of.
On a lighter note I'm glad to see you in good spirits once again, you are much stronger than I would've been that's for sure.

With all due respect you're not a quitter. Glad to see you are moving forward. The new additions have a great home.

Fortunato, sorry for your loss. i feel your pain man. i lost more than 90% of all livestock about 7 months ago.
took some time recovering....i'm back to almost where things were pre-crash.
looks like your tank is bouncing back quickly. love that heniochus....thinking of getting a couple myself.
post more pics. and keep us updated.

Thanks for all the continuing support guys!

Although it has been sad to have lost all my fish, fish that had a strong sentimental value due to the length of time I had, I am feeling very strong myself on continuing. I have actually been very excited on tracking down new fish to restock my tank and I am loving the baby fish I am finding. I think it will be more exciting to see them grow from these cute little guys into the fish I once used to have.

Soon I will end up making a new thread for my restocking process with updated progress so the first thing people see won't be that sad picture.

sucks... similar things have happened to me. My 75 gallon saltwater tank was at its best when i left for vacation last year for a week... left the wrong person to take care of the tank... came back to find a total die off... this is what i hate about saltwater... the die offs

Thanks everyone...it is definitely terrible, I've had most of these fish for over 3 years now and they grew up in my tank. I know I can replace them but it's just so sad to see such innocent creatures dead and they all hold some sentimental value. I got that yellow belly hippo tang before he even had a yellow belly at just 1" in size and now to see him out of the water, he was as big as my hand. Got the blonde naso from my cousin 2 years ago and the sailfin and foxface I've had since the beginning days of my 75G about 5 years ago and so on and so forth. Idk if I can start all over and fear this happening again :(

In terms of what happened, no I didn't put a bad anemone in my tank. I got a new mertens anemone that was about 18" and it came straight from the wholesaler, so as soon as it came off the plane I acclimated it and went in my tank. The first day (Thursday) it seemed ok and then it remained kind of just ok till some time last night I'm assuming and on my lunch today I came home to ground zero pretty much.

I Can relate to your loss, My wife washes my filter socks and this time she knew something was wrong. she rinse's them twice after a bleach wash but she noticed soads when rinsing. I didnt know and used the socks, wiped out everything, all corals and fish. my two clowns survived and my Ritteri of 5 yrs pulled thru, but was almost gone. Now I have a huge tank with nothing in it. Its a tuff hobby but I love it. Very sad in my heart to lose live stock also. Not sure what to do either, as of 5 months my tank remains like this
