I have a Sequence Marlin to run my skimmer, 2 overflows, and 2 phosban reactors - very quiet and sick flow! I had micro bubbles at the beginning, but found that it was my bulk head attached to the sump (3012 Ecosystem) that was originally attached incorrectly.

I've been using 2 BlueLine Presure rated pumps for the past year now and no complaints. Not the quitest or most efficient but it is really powerful. I use a BL 70 for return and a BL 40 for my MRC 2 skimmer. I wish I could dump a ton of cash into a Red Dragon but that will have to wait till next week's Lotto Drawing. :tongue1:

 i am swaping my BlueLine70 for the RD because it is in my living room and the noise makes a big difference. Plus the electricity saved over a year will pay for the cost of the pump.
If i win the lottery, i'll take that too.

So I take it the RD is the quietest pump that we know of. Good to know. Maybe in a year or so I'll look into picking one up. I understand the plumbing is in metric size so it will need some weird attachment to work. Sorry to get off topic. Back to the real issue!

yes, quiet, small, and efficient (low wattage)
they have a silicone attachment to convert to 'regular' sizes (see my plumbing thread) for plumbing

Whats the price tag if you don't mind me asking. :shhh:

When I was looking into them the one I wanted was 900. To much money, I think. I got the Dart and it has the flow I want and you dont hear a thing. With really low watts. 130w I think with 3600GPH.

Was just reading though this thread and noticed a lot of people are using their pumps for multiple uses, i.e a chiller, return, skimmer various reactors... How do you have this plumbed...or am I reading this wrong.

Hey PvsPlayhouse....sweet image. I'm seeing your sequence dart is on your 120, right?

I have a custom tank (82.9 gal) that is just about up and I too have the sequence dart.....how do you like it?

Have you mounted it down? Used padding? How is your head loss and flow from the unit? Does it have a baldor motor? I'd be interested in hearing how it works for ya. Glad to see it.....I've yet to fire my bad boy up though.....

Yes it is on my 120. I love the pump the only thing is that it is really Hot in them middle of the pump. Which they said is normal. I didnt Mount it down I did put some pading under it to rais it up a littel bit off the floor just in case I have a flood on the bottom of the tank... Dont ask me why. :Yikes:
They dont make the Dart with the Baldor motors anymore they make them now with the AJ smith motor which is just as good but get hot. Since the impeller is away from the motor it does not make tank hot at all. Are you just using it for flow. IF you are it is way to much flow to go through your overflows. I have to trun mine down even with it hooked up to my chiller and skimmer. If you are having your tank made how big did you make your over flows. If both are 1" or bigger you prob will be all good. I just turn mine down because of the nouse that it makes.

Hey PV, sorry didn't realize there was a reply here. Thanks for the insight, I'm excited to use mine already! :splitspin

My overflow is 18"....so it should be fine. I spoke to mdm and they said dialing it down will do no harm to it. As long as it's nothing drastic.

I did not mount mine either, cause I got a silly silly sump....but I did put some padding underneath there as well. Not for floods that I WILL have but for vibration. How much padding did you put under it and what did you use? Think I can check it out if you don't mind? I've been trying to see some pics of how people have employing their dart foaming.:goldfish:

I'm pretty sure PVs was referring to the size of the bulkhead diameter being larger than 1". I think you're talking about the height of the overflow :shhh: .

Height only adds to the waterfall effect (noise), whereas bulkhead diameter will help to dictate the volume of water that will pass without flooding. :wink1:

I'm sorry....good pointing out swimmer. I had meant to say that my over flow is 18" wide and my 4 returns are 3/4" bulkheads, each with ball valves to be dialed down somewhat.

No exp. with little giants here, though there is a store right up the block that does service on all these sorts of pumps, which is sweet.
