Dead silent. Any vibration it produces seems to be undetectable.

Quietone 3000

40 watts, 780 gph, 10' 5" maximum pumping head UL listed 1" MPT outlet intake either screened or 1" MPT optional connection, 4 1/4" l x 3 3/4" w x 4 1/4" h

My opinion:
1. Very very quiet, dont even realize its running.
2. No extra heat into tank
3. Only pump ive used, and only one will buy from here on out!
4. Craftsmanship is amazing, very reliable and solid material without the size being overbearing, small pump, big results.
5. Other models available for more GPH's.....

Mike, I have a BlueLine70HD. (used 2 yrs)

I am waiting on my Red Dragon to arrive, when it does, you can have this pump for free if you like. It is not silent and it is pressure rated, so it's not energy efficient either. but for you, it is free.

p.s. if anyone else wants this pump, it is $100 if mike passes on it - retails for $250 (dont ask for it for free).

These pumps are designed and built by a former chief engineer from Iwaki-Japan. They feature the same flow curves, high head pressure, low noise, and reliability that have made Iwaki the best magnetic drive pumps available. The BlueLine HD pumps are even slightly quieter than Iwaki, with a lower frequency. These units are yellow rather than green and carry a full 5 Year parts and labor guarantee. All seal-free bearings and magnetic drive for 10+ years of useable life. No seals to leak!

Mike I have a great Pump,

Snapper from sequence.
It's so quiet I can't here it over the icecap fans in the hood.
mine is pushing through a 14' run of 1.5" spaflex and a chiller.
as a normal return you could have some sick flow in the tank.
just make sure your overflows and sump can handle it. I tried mine
before hooking it to the chiller, my 2x1.5" durso's barley kept up with
this pump :sgrin: I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to move lots
of water for little wattage.

I have used a quietone 6000 and a blueline 40X in the past, so far I like the snapper the best.

Mike, I can't get the specs posted here. I'm not good with computers. You are welcome to come by and check out what I got. You've seen the Sequence Hammerhead @ 5800 GPH at around 323 watts. I've also got the Snapper (Jon talked me into this in a round about kind of way). Come by and check it out. You saw Cali Reefs Sequence Dart. Are you seeing a trend here on a brand I like? Sequence uses Baldor motors. Baldor makes motors for elevators which have a history of being sold to landlords who don't want to dump tons of money into electricity for something so demanding. They know how to get more for less. Even better, you can get them from Tony (reefexotics) at the MR discount. Ehiem's are awsome as well. I gave Dave (Spykes) my Blueline the other day. He is really happy with it and was suprised with the flow. 70 watts. Pressure rated, 1100GPH. There are a few good pumps out there these days. I remember when Iwaki was my best option.

comments on this pump for skimmer?

SEDRA 5000 A Submersible - External 500 GPH Pump
Mike, I have this on my ASM G3 skimmer. It is far from quiet, but I really didn't expect a pump that's sucking air and water at the same time to be quiet. When my stand's doors are open, there's a definitive hiss associated with its performance. It starts up reliably without any protest. I have mine submerged in the sump.

Mike, is that for the BK knockoff? Try to find out the GPH of the Red Dragon they would use for a skimmer with a body of approximately the same size and try to match it up with a sedra or aquabee.

deanos -- i will elaborate on it. After less then a year i had the coral life 1740. its a high pressure pump that states it uses 290 watts. I used one of those watt meters and it said it was over 300. well 10 watts to a reefer is money that could been used on a new coral or eqiupment etc.. Then about after 9 months the pump started making noises. i though something was stuck rightt>? WRONG. I took it apart and checked it out. there was nothing. i thought .......maybe it just needs a annual lube job. hell my car needs one on its engine so why not. put it all back together. and guess what, the same noise. now after about another 2 months it finnally siezed. WELL after spending $249 on it. I determined i will never use that again. I also started using the gen x pcx - 40. that i like not powerful but old reliable and uses only 140 watts. Its qiuet and i have no complaints about it.

"And thats all i have to say about dat." LOL

true story though

I have a Dart Pump works great. I use it to run my chiller, skimmer, two overflows and Phos reactor.

Sequence Dart
3600GPH
135w but if you turn down the pump it will use less watts.
I dont even know it is on.
Max Head 12 feet.
$199
http://www.reefexotics.com/reeflo.htm
I went to the guys house and saved on shipping.

Its the same as the Snapper just more flow.
