I was pleasantly surprised when I had a look at my tanks. For the most part, I intuitively used the 5/3 rule. The color wheel is a different matter. In my old tank I "sort of" had it this way.
Right now my 40Gal has a "rubble zone" where there should be just sand and I had moved some rock around because of last minute placement, but I also had it following the 5/3 rule...
The big problem with coral placement is lighting. Until I upgrade my lighting I am forced to place my "center pieces" under the one metal halide bulb I have over my 40. So my large blue Maxima clam is there and my RBTA moved there all on it's own...
Great talk. Now I have to save up to change out my lighting over my 40 AND my 180! Also need to completely rethink my circulation strategy. I was just going to eventually add a pair of Vortex MP40's (they are not cheap either!), but perhaps I should re-scape my tank and incorporated a closed loop.
Thanks!
Alfred
