i dont think they would survive in that area lol. i have no idea how the percentage works i have 4 leds not lit on the controller. and i have played around with the speeds still blows sand. i have that fiji pink sand so its basically the finest sand you can buy. obv not good to have with an mp40.

It's a 75 read his signature. But as for Jarret how low into the tank do you have it and how far from the nearest rock? I assume it is hitting a rock directly and not it is not far from the rock, pushing water down towards the sand. Try moving the MP 40 left or right or even higher. I personally think 2 MP 10's would work better in a 75 then a MP 40.

I got one mp60wes and two mp40wes on my tank with 4 koralia magnum 8's.
I do not have this issue. So I wanted to understand why his are kicking sand?

I had the mp60 for 3 days when we first interacted. Now I have played with them for 3 weeks or so and I like what I have.

A MP 60 will react very differently in a tank your size compared to a 75 gallon. Even knowing he has a MP 40, the ratio to a 75 is a lot higher in flow comparison.

So your at about 75%. I have 2 mp40's with 5 lights not lit on NTM.
Mine are 10" from the front and 10" down.
The covered side of the grating on the wet side is pointed down
I have fine sand also. It does pull the sand to the sides. But nothing floating around in the water colum.

and the pump is in pretty much the only spot he could be functional because of my rock work its about 5 inches from the water surface and placed all the way to the left on my side tank glass. so it has no obstructions anywhere else i put it. its eithier blowing directly into a rock or directly into one of my favorite corals.

I think you are too high at 75% especially on NTM. I have two 40s on my 65 with no issue but I'm usually at 40-50%. I go to 60-65 on NTM.

I dont know enough about different sands to make a suggestion there. Sorry if its not the info your looking for.

a 75 is a lot smaller then a 300 gallon tank sunny regardless of how many pumps you have in there, you have a lot more rock a lot more coral. if you look at a 75 gallon its not a big tank and theres not a whole lot of places for the flow to disperse. and i don't know the measurement of the tank from top to bottom but it is most certainly not high.

also your tank is a lot longer then mine, 4 feet is not a lot of length to let the flow die down. its going to reach the other side and its going to hit the wall and travel in only one direction which is down. and thats where the sand is being blown.

heres one before the mp40 went in, the mp40 is placed the right side all the way to the top and all the sand by that gsp rock is basically gone.
