Is it safe running a generator in a porch of a town home.?

The natural gas ones for your home are much more affordable now. I have one in the plans when I get this whole addition thing done with.

Probably looking at $7-8k for a 20kw

I have seen them as low as 5 grand installed in the range. It was Generac, they have a dealer/service building south of me.

Im an electrician it is, you just want to stick a #12 gauge piece of wire a foot or two into the dirt and find the gnd screw on the generator and tighten the wire there if not you can get shocked if grounded on the other end. If it doesn't have a ground screw rap the metallic (copper or aluminum) wire around the generators chassis to secure ground to the unit. Imo

For a 17 or 20kw system. If you are correct I will get one sooner than I thought...

I have been pricing these things out for a long time... Some of the prices that you see do not include the transfer equip.

Nice links. Definitely going with a natural gas generator after this mess clears out. I think 8k would handle a house though. In a hurricane like this I don't think I would be doing too much.
