Thanks guys for all the inputs. I really appreciated it. For light weight i'm not too concern with toggle bolt as i'm hangging 3 led lights with that as well. The ATI fixture i have is a 48 inch 6 bulb version. I think it weights in around 20-25 lbs. I'm pretty nervious with hanging using the toggle bulb but if i have no choice, that will be my solution. And like dave mention, centering the lighta round the tank is another issue i face as i can't move my tank around the studs at this point.

I found out that my subfloor is support by 2x8 but i think they are actually 1.5x7.5 and every 16 inch. But centering the light will be an issue for me. So i might have to go with hanging using toggle bolt method and use a huge bolt. I can probably punch in some nail and see where the studs are, i don't think the stud finder will help, i have one laying around some where, just gotta find it.

AGAIN, thank you everyone for your vaulable input.

Althought i was able to find the stud but the stud is off by 8 inches and i can't move my tank. I went with Matthew's suggestion. Hang it using toggle bolt but due to the size of the nut i can't use the biggest bolt i can find. Asked the store owner and if 2 of the 3/16 3 inch toggle bolt will have any problem hangging 20-25 lb fixture, he said not at all. Came home, spent 15 minutes, bam! the light is up...nice and sturdy. i hope i won't get nightmare...lol!!!!

thanks again guys! you guys are great!!!

Good for you...using toggle bolt?

Just measure nice where you want to hang and drill. My light fixture it's .75 inch off center, but i can live with it.....lol!!!!

No I will post pictures later. I painted some pieces of faring and screwed that to the studs then hung the fixture to that. I'm kind of glad I did this as I am going to add a reef brite to the fixture.
