acro tips dying help

Acro tips have been dying for the last 6 weeks killing off colonies 1 to 2 per 10 days ca 435-460 dkh was low 6.7 when it first started so i slowly raised it to btween 9-11 phos reads 0 dont know what to do mag was really high 1560-1600 trie lowering it using io salt insteadof rs coral pro didnt help im perplexedonly seems to do it to 1 or 2 corals at a time was thinking pest ??? any ideas would be appreciate

Loosing tip tissues could by from high ALK and if you burn them with light .
Do you use LED?

Btw, high MG will not cause tip loss

i do have led at 65% corals have been doing fine for the past 8 months they were at 85% figured might help by lowering .I am dosing brs ca and alk it never was high only low and it seems weird only 1 or 2 at a time wouldnt all suffer???i also feed reef chili a few times a week and occasional marine snow nothing new since it started

I dont think its the lights ive lowered them to 65% from 85% 2 weeks ago and Im still having issues also theyve been under those lights for 7 months and growing fine I was trying to get pictures from my phone to my puter but my puter is screwed up wont take them

ive seen the hermits on the tips but thats after theyre dead and they re picking at the little algae that appears after they have died

Have you done anything different to your water just before the issue started. Like maybe adding a lot more carbon at one time. Possibly doing something that could of changed your orp level which could of increase the intensity level of the par penetrating through your water from the LED Fixture

Only time I have seen people have issues with sps tips is ALK burn most of the time. Maaaaaybe sometimes it could be lighting, vodka dosing (etc), or in some cases a fish, crab, etc.

i did change my carbon in the reactor but i actually put less in than what i had , rinsed with ro and its chained in with my gfo goes through carbon canister first then gfo . i used instant ocean salt last 2 water changes in the past week thinking i could lower the mag to no avail was told thr red sea coral pro has a tendancy to give high mag thats what i have been using for past 7 months

the carbon is also brs , premium ROX 0.8 same batch that was in canister beforehand

ive changed the reagents for the alk , when the issue started dkh was6.7 which ive read was low so it cant be alk right?

also all the corals havent suffered simutaneously if it was alk or light or even the carbon wouldnt they suffer at the same time not weeks apart??

How long have you had the LEDs on your tank?

i did have some sps hungry clown gobies picking at the bases awhile ago but they have been eradicated

Just to clarify, there is no dosing of Vinegar, vodka, or zeobak?

calibrate your refractometer if you didn't already.

I've heard of this happening to guys with stay voltage in their tanks, usually from faulty pumps or heaters. Add a titanium ground probe if you don't have one already.

Jackson makes some good points. Also did you happen to drop anything in the tank that could effect coral? Maybe something metal like a penny etc.

no vodka vinagar or zeo.and nothing that i know of in the tank the skimmer does have a metal screw on the gate valve thats a lil rusty but its been that way since day one .sg has been checked with 2 different floaties and they say the same1.024 i dont have refractometer as for stray voltage i have 2 mp40 s and the heaters and 3 pumps are inthe sump down belowand like i said wouldnt they all be affected simutaneously ? i will get a probe tommorow just in case
