i love the powder brown peaceful
in the beginning a new introduction gets chased around , then the novelty wears off
i was told after i put in 2 yellows i could not introduce more , i introduced one the same size and 2 tiny ones , they chased the tiny ones for a few days into the live rock
i fed to distract them and now its just a school

12 rings for $13.00 does not see worth it for me. it takes some time but your tangs and algae eaters will eventually get use to the nori. my powder blue, clown and yellow tang never used to look at nori sheets after a few days they all became accustomed to it. good concept for the rings but way to much money to feed our fishy friends :)

i just loooked at the package of norri it has 0 on everything
but i looked up romaine nutritional value
google it
1 ? Protein. Believe it or not, romaine lettuce is 17% protein with 7.7 grams per head. It is also a complete protein! That means that it has all 8 essential amino acids, 9% RDA of some and up to 26% RDA of others.
2 ? Calcium. One head of romaine has 206mg of calcium (about 21% RDA). Blend it with calcium rich fruits like papaya and oranges and you?ll get more calcium than a glass of milk!
3 ? Omega-3s. One head of romaine lettuce contains 44% RDA of Omega-3 essential fats. Forget the tainted fish oils, reach for some leafy greens instead!
4 ? More Vitamin C Than An Orange. One head of romaine contains 167% RDA of vitamin C while an average sized orange contains only 92%.
5 ? Iron. One head of romaine contains 6mg of iron, which ads a significant source of iron to the diets of vegetarians and vegans.
6 ? Romaine Lettuce is Rich in B-vitamins: Thiamine (B1) ? 38% RDA, Riboflavin (B2) ? 32% RDA, Niacin (B3) ? 12% RDA, Pantothenic Acid (B5) ? 18%, Pyridoxine (B6) ? 36 %, Folate (B9) ? 213%!
7 ? Water. One head of romaine provides 16% of your daily water needs with about 20 ounces of water per head!
8 ? Rich Source of vitamin A (as beta-carotene) and K. As with most leafy greens, romaine is super rich in beta-carotene with 1817% RDA per head and has 535% RDA of vitamin K.
9 ? Low Levels of Oxalic Acid. If you have problems with calcium oxalate kidney stones, romaine lettuce might be a good choice for leafy greens since it is very low in this anti-nutrient.
10 ? Mineral-Rich. Don?t let the lighter color of romaine lettuce fool you. This not-so-dark leafy green is rich in minerals. One head contains copper (33% RDA), magnesium (22% RDA), manganese (42% RDA), phosphorus (27% RDA), potassium (33%), selenium (5% RDA) and zinc (13% RDA).
Now i know these are human values but if you start with zero as in Norri it stays zero

Romane is not as benign as you think

i feed both

When I was scuba diving all over the world I never saw romaine lettuce eating tangs however they are all well fed with marine algae aka nori. So I'll keep it out off my tank.
If your fish happy and healthy with it is great, I don't have a problem at all.
Happy reefing!!!

i too have been all over in Belize, Hati ,costa rica, the red sea in Eliat, and i never saw a veggie clip or TANKS PERIOD
This site is to be friendly and exchange ideas and discuss, lol relax !!!!!!!
Not that i agree with zoos , do you know the poor creatures kept in them live longer then in the wild , no predators and better diet . 90 percent of the diets are man made . Life is not so important , take it day by day WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT Life or death , its a relaxing hobby
peace , so relax ,relate and take a breath

I feel the best diet for our fish, invertebrate and corals is a diet that consists of foods found in their natural habitat. Fish will eat just about anything you give them. Their metabolism is designed to digest and extract nutrients from the foods available to them in the wild. Granted, in our aquariums they do not get the many nutrients available to them in the oceans. I know many folks say that terrestrial veggies like spinach, carrots and lettuce are good for them, but I don't see how they can be better than the seaweed that grows in their world. My thinking is very simple when it comes to this. I'd rather stick with foods they are used to eating in the wild and supplement with vitamins than to give them terrestrial foods.
