Hope you found that to be the realculprit because if it isn't the shrimp(which is an easier to see), then it would likely be a stealthy crab. My buddy used to blame a big brittle star until one day I was babysitting his tank I found limbs of the star that acts like horror movies before I can pin point that a crab hidden to good for over year create mystery for about 2 years.
