I've had the tilefish for about 3 months or so. I got it from Brian at Diamonds of the Reef who had it conditioned and eating well beforehand. It has been an unproblematic, model citizen.
Cebu tonguefish.... Its something with little research and is super rare in the trade. I also have a marginal butterfly fish,a golden dwarf moray eel, a noake wrasse, and a blotchy anthias.. If its rare in the trade, im interested to put it in the tank!
Pentapodus emeryii.......aka the spinecheek... I have seen them small, never bigger than 3" in the store. However they do have a big mouth to eat little fishes.
I feed him mysis and brine along with blackworms. I also have aiptasia growing in my overflow i left for it. The aiptasia starts to grow out of the slits in the overflow and it picks them off
Tropical island for the marginal butterfly (copperbands cousin which is rare in the trade), eel on ebay ( currently the only vendor has 3 left), tonguefish (aquahut and yes i was careful and will only take chances on the hardy fish).
not seen to often...it's a whiptail (Pentapodus Emeryii) got him recently in a trade with MR member Doug..very cool fish..although it's member of the Grout and Bream families it acts more like an Anthias prefering to stay in the upper open water and away from the sand..it may get into the sand when it's larger....also even though its out all day, it's nocternal with those big eyes hanging out with my cardinals at night.
