I think you mean granular/pellet black activated carbon.

Carbon dosing is when you add sugar, vinegar, vodka or other carbon based stuff into your tank for the intended purpose of removing nitrates and phosphates.

No I dont do nothing like that no dosing

for about 5 months i was going maddd cuz all my acans completely shriveled up, were dying more and more everyday. them being my fave coral, it was absolutely making me insane. anyones house i went to from here id ask them about what could be bothering my acans. I didn't put two and two together that it started happening a few weeks in to vodka dosing . My tank looked phenomenal everyone seemed happy but my fave once fat greedy always hungry acans. They HATED the pristine water conditions. i heavily fed my tank for a few days and noticed them coming back to life !! no more vodka dosing and some time finding a nice balance in my tank.... i always have a little nitrates now but everything seems pretty comfortable. Every acan i thought i lost came back to life with new intense rainbow colorations :redface:
