after reading all the posts here and looking at all the pics Im questioning my design...Does the manifold itself have to be smaller then the return line (ie, f return ins 3/4, manifold has to be 1/2) or its fine to keep the manifold 3/4 too?

I was going to start a thread about most of the questions already answered....except one.my question is would it be better to have pvc all the way or use hoses after the valves?if you see below on what I'm working with.the manifold is for the 60 cube I bought off of flypenfly.the return pump is an eheim 1262(900 Gph) which should be more than enough for the return, chiller, gfo and refugium that was built by custom king(my refugium needs a separate pump).im not sure if using pvc all the way is a good idea or not..if someone can give me more insight on this let me know

I think people use hose for at least one joint for stress relief, flexibility in placement, and vibrition dampening.

I was thinking the same thing.. in the picture I posted the fittings after the ball valves are female (slip/thread)fittings .i just have to find 1/2 male barb fittings to run the hoses ...and your absolutely right on the 5 trips and 3 different home depot's just to find what you need, its a good thing I'm at home depot all the time to pick up stuff for work..lol
Thanks again for the tank!!
