need help someone please help me drill a tank

I am building a 10g reef tank I want to add a sump so I only want to drill the drain pipe the hole I can use a canister hose and U for the return I dot have a bit tho will someone rent me one or help me do it? If your looking to drill a 10 gallon tank. Really isn't a good idea because tank glass is thin. I never tried a 10 the smallest I did was 27 gal. I know you can cut it but glass is going to be weak.

as piranhapat said the glass is very thing. i drilled my first 10 gallon and cracked just by adding the pvc to the bulkhead and the pressure cracked it. i would not drilled it unless its on the bottom. But you prob. won't be able to do that either. Glass is way to thin and breaks easy...

I drilled a 10G even thou the tank was thing but didn't crack at all. Just minor scratches on the tank. The reason it looks like it because I tinted the back glass black

I can drill it for you if you want thou. I used a 1/2 inch bit on the tank if I'm not mistaking. But I will not take no responsibly if the tank cracks on me. I did my tank at my own risk.

i can drill it if the others fall through. i drilled 2 holes out the side of my 20g for a fuge.

you can go to home depot and buy a diamond bit its in the section that has the dremmer the half inch is like 20 bucks i bought one but havent tried it yet waiting for a project lol and i gotta keep on looking for the 1 inch one they didnt have it in stock

You can use pvc parts to make a bulkhead, but I doubt with that size hole... At that size though not sure what you can do except use it to feed an external overflow box...

Looks like a 1" bulkhead in the pic and probably meant to say a 1 1/2" hole. Although its a 1 3/4" hole for a 1" bulkhead

Just make sure your bit doesn't wobble too bad and use extremely light pressure and plenty of lubrication.

Sure they do I have two 1/2" returns in both of my 40 breeders.
