damn just a little disappointed
i posted in one of there threads that i hope the new store has prices on the tanks because more then one occasion i went and asked how much something was and they gave me one price i turn around other people ask they get a different price
just crazy how they deleted that post just picking and choosing prices for people

not starting a hate thread just figured id like to post where it can't be deleted

ps great store best damn selection of fish you will find under one roof

once again hopefully the new store will have prices up and not just throwing numbers depending on the person

They pay to have they own vendor forum so i think they get to choose what to delete or not.
Not that is right but hey thats what they pay for .

Unfortunately thats true but i understand that repeated customers (3+ times a months ) and drop a few hundreds get different prices but that every where is simply "customer loyalty"
Every1 will complain till they become regulars and get the "discounts"
I believe that even if prices r on the tanks the loyal customers will continue to get a bit of a better price.
I definitely miss the old maxreefs but i also understand they trying to make it bigger so u have to give them some time.

Thats the difference between vendor forum and general discussion. Not to start trouble, but for another LFS that got bashed for deleting threads was held up in comparison to MaxReefs who would never delete a post...

Vendor forums are like your online storefront and websites. You don't leave graffiti on the walls and garbage on the sidewalk.

General Discussion is a different story altogether. Posting prices on a tank is a good thing. But every business has the right to do their thing. To some its a benefit, to others a detriment. The beautify of the free market.

I haven't been there in sometime what do you think has changed so much? they never had prices on fish only some corals. I always thought the prices were good.

The prices are good at least they used to be. I miss the old max reefs also. Looking at there prices now they are comparable to other stores or even more expensive than others now. Yes I am one that gets discounts but I've been going there for years. Plus I live so far away I spend when I do go. I have to force myself to buy fish sometimes cause I can't have the wife arguing with me for wasting gas and tolls. I understand there opening up a new and improved store but in the same breath there neglecting the old store. I for one had a problem with prices being on tank and them charging higher prices when it's clearly marked. I hated that they didn't have prices on tank. They put the prices on tanks and the prices went up. What I didn't want to realize was/is the price of living goes up. Taxes/gas/living/expenses go up especially for a business. So to cover expenses prices have to rise also. I will be the first one to honestly admit that I myself got spoiled as well as a bunch of others. Having the best selectin and cheapest prices is what I had come to expect not taking into account of inflation. Anyway. I miss the old max reefs. Staff there now is decent. Edwin aka let me see what I can do, Nelson aka the company man, Ralph aka the head honcho/el heffe. Good luck with the new store

Ppl its a privately owned small business. Everybody gets different prices based on loyalty and how much you spend. (a factor is also how much they buy for. prices and shipping vary). If you want consistent prices DEAL WITH THE SAME SALESPERSON! This person will know that you dropped big bucks last month on this or that. They will know that you come weekly and drop bucks. They will know that you are honest when they underbill you or you do them a favor. Use the system dont get used by the system.

I agree. Their prices are not great - or consistent. I asked different guys there for prices on the same thing and it was different - it's like they're making it up.

I used to like the place. Not any more.

Absolutely, but anybody that's been there knows it's the same people always there and if you gotta gripe you can speak on it there. It's kind of like a family place it seems. That's how I see it.

for the record I'm in there weekly never leave without something minimum 50$ when i go there even 351$ one shot just for fish

I'm there all the time i asked how much for the orange plate he said 55$ LATER THAT DAY MY BOY WHO GOES THERE ONCE A YEAR IF THAT DECIDED TO GO BECAUSE I CALLED HIM SAID THEY HAD A LOT OF STUFF HE BOUGHT THAT PLATE FOR 40$

Not defending them just being the Devils advocate because I think that there aren't as many reefers out there so in this small world we should be more direct to one another. If you told me you were told 100 bucks for something and your there every other week and the next man paid half and THEN you said something and were ignored or whatever that's another story. I remember reading a thread where somebody said DONT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR and it had something to do with online ordering and credit card fraud or something and instead of telling them they blasted the vendor.
