I got someone fire at petco

No I wasn't implying that I didn't just stating that I call it as I see it but at times what we are looking at May not be what it seems , I agree with you about the rights to sell and the moral decision to support and not support based on how a person feels about a business.

the person who started this thread got on his/her high horse not only complained to the store manager but felt compelled to call corporate and got some kid fired. and by the title is proud of that accomplishment.

this mentality keeps me away from this site. maybe i shoudl frequent here more often andd call out people on the BullsH*T :irked:

young kid gets a job (could have been any one of us at an early age with the passion for the hobby) only to have some opinionated "know it all" carry on about nothing and the kid gets fired.

I agree that the OP is kind of a doosh bragging about getting someone fired. On Monday I am going to call cooperate and tell them how great the fish department is.

If petco did fire him I see it as a sign of good management. Someone stocked the fish in a improper manner, he was held accountable for his actions and was fired. That's a big +1 for petco. I can't imagine the kid getting fired for a mistake like that. If he was fired there has to be more to the story. Either way its a shame our country doesn't run the same way and hold it's employees accountable.

who are you, or any of us to state that any business should lose their right to do business anywhere in the US
if you don't like they way they handle their livestock than by all means dont give them your business.

Just closing your ears and eyes on what is happening around you, doesn't solve the problem. Not patronizing those stores doesn't solve the problem.
The kid fired is just a casualty of war. Sad but it had to happen to correct the obvious problems. You said "at least the kid had a job". Maybe he should have a different job. Maybe McDonald is a better place for him.

#1 why don't you go apply and take care of the aquatics department
#2 why don't you offer help to the now fired kid and tell him you're an experienced reef keeper with a degree in biology and teach him how to deal with saltwater fish so he can keep his job
#3 petco provably called you "if they really did" to calm you down, probably the kid was sent to another store and replaced with a more unqualified individual

Don't like it don't stop in. Some kid who is actually working and trying to do something productive lost his job. Petco is to blame not the kid. And yet tons of people still buy from them.

If not happy with way handle the business, don't go and eventually they'll close the doors
