It is already a reality but I wish the majority of us in the hobby would get like a natureef style dinitrator or something, that in conjunction with a calcium reactor or dosing supplements would allow us to eliminate or at least drastically reduce water changes.

I know I may get heat from some of you here that love doing water changes but there are new papers out that prove what I have been saying for a while now...
If corals like stability, every week or so we are causing a major change in water chemistry... Maybe not so good as we think it is.

This is just a wish I have, and if you strongly agree with water changes awesome! But there are studies out there that indicate otherwise...

One bad thing about DIY water change systems or any systems like that is how do you get rid of settling deitrus. It's one thing in changing some water but what about siphoning the nasty stuff in the DT,fuge and sump?
There are other schools of thought that say you should never disturb the sandbed. If the sandbed accumulates deitrus then a better cleanup crew may be needed.

If it's 1 disc you have to change every 90 days than that's not tooo bad.. But if it's multiple that gets expensive on top of other things you have to replenish. Correction of the price too they are saying about $35.00
