As for brand of tank. Some Petco still sell a few different brands. So it depends which Petco you go to.

What's wrong with tetra tanks to make a sump ?

They just arent near the quality of aqueon. Fine I guess for sump but thin glass and big bracing.

I haven't seen Aqueon tanks on the $1 per gallon sale in a long time
